The Rose Unloved

I saw a Rose today thrown to the ground.
Not an ordinary one – but a special one with a crown.
The Rose was then stepped on by uncaring feet riding on top of it all through the streets.
What I’m speaking of are the feet of skateboard riders showing off skills up and
around ramps and also hills.

Unbeknownst to me as I continued to look on at what I thought were amazing stunts-
I happened to look down at each of the boards and caught sight of a particular one.
It was fashioned into the image of our Savior’s cross without a care, honor or even for-thought.
My heart ached as this board was slammed down.

For you see – in that image was the Rose trampled on the ground.
The Rose so sweet, so perfect and unloved suffered the cross for me
and for others who didn’t care to be free.
So you see – I will be eternally grateful and surrendered to his majesty.
I will honor him, pick him up and place him into the vase of my heart as King.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever
believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
